Partner, Sanofi Ventures Asia

Sanofi, a leading global healthcare company, is looking to hire a Partner to join Sanofi Ventures (SV) (www.sanofiventures.com) and help build the Sanofi Ventures Asia strategy. The goal is to support Sanofi’s mission of bringing innovation to patients around the world. SV is the corporate venture capital arm of Sanofi. SV has the ability to both seed and lead financings in early-stage private companies with innovative ideas, transformative new products, or breakthrough technologies that are of strategic interest to Sanofi. Among these areas are immunology, vaccines, oncology, and potential cures in other core areas of Sanofi’s business footprint. At SV, how we work is central to what we achieve. We are seeking a team oriented senior investor who thrives in a collaborative environment and can help expand SV’s therapeutic investment mandate in China. The ideal candidate brings significant investing experience, is deeply connected within the local innovation ecosystem, and can work seamlessly with the broader Sanofi organization while actively sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investment opportunities.

Main responsibilities:

• Team building: help build and scale Sanofi Ventures Asia to deliver on SV’s broader strategic and investment objectives across Sanofi.

• Deal Sourcing: develop and execute a structured, industry focused sourcing strategy. Proactively identify compelling opportunities by drilling into key therapeutic sectors and subsectors within the China and broader Asia innovation ecosystem.

• Lead Investments: drive end to end investment processes, including internal communication, cross functional coordination, and strategic alignment. Represent SV as a board director for portfolio companies as appropriate.

• Active Team Member: engage fully in all SV activities and represent the team effectively in both internal and external forums

About you:

• BA with a minimum of 5 years of directly relevant business experience in the Life Sciences industry, including a minimum of 5 years of investing experience in a successful VC firm. Preference for relevant graduate degree (MBA / MD / PhD)

• Valuable investment experience through a number of Life Sciences investments

• Selected candidate will have an engaged style of investment, leading process from origination to closing and to eventual exit, and deep ties to the local investing ecosystem. They will have experience of actively working on all aspects of the transaction (business plan, due diligence, valuation and modeling, leadership evaluation etc.).
