Country Finance Head – Morocco, Tunisia & Libya & Finance Business Partner – Vaccine Africa

Job Summary

The Country Finance Head – Morocco, Tunisia & Libya & Finance Business Partner – Vaccine Africa serves as the strategic financial leader , with dual accountability. This role ensures robust financial governance, drives performance optimization, and partners with business stakeholders across all markets to achieve strategic objectives while maintaining compliance and fostering a strong regional finance community. the role promotes innovation, speed, and agility through bold new approaches — notably digital — to reach business objectives and ensure sustainable performance across all markets in scope.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy, Transformation and Execution

• Implements finance strategy, rules, and tools across the assigned scope. Ensures compliance with local laws and corporate procedures while protecting business interests and assets. Drives financial excellence and represents Sanofi Finance externally.

Frame the MTL Financial strategy in alignment with Group and GBU management to simplify portfolio and maximize profitability and patient reach

• Extend strategic finance partnership to Vaccine Africa markets, supporting local teams in aligning with Group and GBU strategic priorities

  • Embrace and promote bold new approaches, including digital transformation initiatives, to drive efficiency, innovation, and agility across Morocco, Tunisia & Libya and Vaccine Africa markets; foster a culture of continuous improvement and speed in the way finance operates and supports the business.

• Coordinate and harmonize finance strategy across Morocco, Tunisia & Libya and Vaccine Africa markets, ensuring consistency of approach across different market.

• Implement the Finance Function strategy roadmap, rules, and principles for all Sanofi activities in MTL and Vaccine Africa markets in accordance with local legislation, corporate procedures, and Group requirements

• Foster strategic thinking and partner in decision-making processes for business development across all markets

• Support Finance transformation initiatives, including Business Operations (A2R, CI2C, S2P, Controlling Ops) and other finance functions (i.e IC , treasury , etc) implementation.

• Provide finance expertise to support management in decision-making processes

• Cooperate with tax advisors to develop tax optimization strategies in coordination with tax teams; ensure competitive intelligence on tax impacts in liaison with legal and regulatory functions

• Infuse cash flow, internal control, and compliance culture across the Finance Community and business operations.

2. Financial Planning & Performance Management

• Own the full P&L, ensuring accountability for financial results, budget delivery, and performance targets

• Act as Finance Business Partner for Vaccine Africa markets, supporting business teams on planning, forecasting, and performance management

• Ensure consistency of macro-economic hypotheses in planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across Morocco, Tunisia & Libya and Vaccine Africa markets

• Challenge GBU performance beyond budget tracking to identify risks and opportunities for dynamic resource reallocation at both country and regional level

• Prepare forward-looking analyses focusing on future risks and opportunities with actionable proposals to ensure target achievement across all markets

• Co-pilot and challenge business investments and resource allocation through appropriate KPIs, prioritization measures, and operational analysis

• Support and challenge operational management in Morocco, and across Vaccine Africa markets; provide advice, anticipate issues, and monitor performance

• Ensure reliability of statutory and managerial accounts and timely reporting for Morocco, & Vaccine Africa markets in meeting reporting standards

• Align business strategies and forecasts with M&S/Supply Chain/R&D to ensure consistency of information and data

• Challenge business hypotheses to ensure forecasts are realistic from a finance perspective

• Lead Budget and Forecast processes for Morocco, Tunisia & Libya in close cooperation with the business ; support equivalent processes in Vaccine Africa markets

3. Governance & Stakeholder Management

• Ensure proper flow of financial information and clear processes and governance across Morocco, Tunisia & Libya and Vaccine Africa markets, particularly with A2R and Finance Operations

• Coordinate regional finance governance, ensuring alignment and consistency of financial practices across all markets in scope

• Participate in defining Finance strategy and team sizing with Finance and business stakeholders at country and regional level

• Support GBU, MCO, and Functions stakeholders across Morocco, Tunisia & Libya and Vaccine Africa markets on all financial aspects

• Interact regularly with GBU MCO leadership team and Finance community (local, regional, and global), representing both Morocco, Tunisia & Libya and Vaccine Africa markets

• Drive country and regional performance through optimization of resources, assets, and liabilities while minimizing risk exposure, in coordination with Finance Operations and COEs

• Manage multi-market stakeholder relationships, balancing direct leadership accountability in Morocco, Tunisia & Libya with an influencing and partnering model in Vaccine Africa markets

4. People Management

  • Maintain positive working environment; collaborative team work and inspiring performance driven culture.
  • Lead high performance team through proper performance management based on agreed priorities
  • Ensure team readiness and provide support in the field to warrant team is fully equipped with necessary tools to drive performance
  • Enrich team intellectual capital through identification, development and retention of talents.
  • Tailored talent development and succession plans to raise team capabilities and competencies
  • Ensure team conducts daily tasks in alignment with our values, policies and SOP’s

5. Maintain Compliance 

  • Abide by the requirements of the code of Ethics including but not restricted to maintaining high professional standards of conduct in line with the Company procedure with a duty of care to the reputation of the Company 

6. Ethical Leadership

  • Takes personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training and tools provided by Sanofi, to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (including the Industry Code of Practice, Sanofi Policies and Procedures and any relevant legal requirements) and demonstrate personal leadership in applying these to all work undertaken.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Education: BA or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or similar field

Experience: +10 years of experience in relevant financial a managerial role. Experience in budgeting , planning forecasting is a must.

Multi-Market Scope: Experience managing multi-country or regional finance scope, with demonstrated ability to operate across markets with varying levels of direct responsibility

Leadership Models: Proven ability to balance direct leadership accountability and influencing/partnering models across different markets

Market Knowledge: Deep business acumen and detailed market knowledge; experience in Africa markets preferred

International Exposure: Multicultural experience from international environments

Languages: Fluency in French and English.
