As Data Scientist within our team Digital Commercial Advanced Analytics and AI, you will drive innovation at the intersection of AI and Commercial Pharma operations. This pivotal role positions you as an integral part of Sanofi's Digital Organization, spearheading digital transformation across our global enterprise.

You will design, develop, and deploy scalable AI, GenAI, and Agentic AI solutions aligned with strategic priorities across Sanofi's Global Business Units. Your work will directly contribute to revolutionary transformation initiatives, creating impactful use cases including autonomous agents for omnichannel engagement, AI-powered market access and payer strategies, conversational AI for seamless data interactions, and unified platforms empowering sales teams and Medical Science Liaisons through multi-agent systems.

You'll also enhance patient journeys through intelligent, personalized support solutions. Collaboration is central to this role as you work with product owners, business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineering teams to deliver AI products that create measurable business value. Your strategic influence extends beyond technical implementation – you'll shape Sanofi's digital Commercial AI strategy and influence both AI platform and data foundation strategies.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and deploy the scalable AI, GenAI and agentic AI solutions aligned with strategic priorities across Sanofi’s Global Business Units

• Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineering teams to deliver the AI products that create measurable business value

• Provide critical input in shaping the digital Commercial AI strategy

• Influence the AI platform and data foundation strategies

• Use creative ways to tell stories to technical and non-technical audiences

• Make sure that AI solutions stay compliant with the responsible AI framework

• Adhere to and promote to best practices and standards for GenAI/Agentic AI process (including documentation) and code developments

• Remains up to date with evolving GenAI, Agentic AI and other AI landscape, bring in best practices, tools and other innovative ideas to enhance existing solutions

• Mentor and coach junior data scientists and interns

• Directly contribute to digital transformation of commercial functions, with impactful use cases such as: 

  • Autonomous agents for omnichannel engagement

  • AI & GenAI driven transformation of market access and payer strategies

  • Conversational AI for data interactions and insights (Talk-to-data capabilities)

  • Development of unified platform of sales, marketers and MSL users powered by multi-agent systems

  • Enhancing the patient journey through intelligent and personalized support.

About you

Education / Skills / Experience:

• Bachelor’s in computer science, AI/ML, mathematics, physics, Computational Linguistic or a related field. Masters preferred.

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist applying AI/ML techniques

• Basic understanding on GenAI Proof-Of-Concept (POC)

• Strong coding skills in Python with experience of using AI libraries (e.g. Transformers, LangChain, RAG pipelines)

• General knowledge of NLP tools like regex and fuzzy string matching

• Proficiency in working with Snowflake, Pinecone is a plus

• Good understanding of agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and orchestration of multi-step AI steps

• Experience creating and deploying code libraries using functions, classes in Python in AI product-focused development

• Experience in production-ready model & software development

• Understanding on managing AI/Gen-AI end-to-end life-cycle management

• Experience working in cloud-based environment such as AWS or GCP or Azure

• Experience with various enterprise-level Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)

• Knowledge of regulatory, compliance and ethical considerations in AI/GenAI

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience in communicating with business, expressing important AI, GenAI & Agentic AI concepts in a non-technical way, interpreting feedback from business

• Identify and manage blockers, risks, and interdependencies across Agile teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, data visualization and data storytelling skills

• Nice to have experience in life sciences and healthcare and experience in a complex global organization

• A demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment, working with multi-cultural global team

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment and to manage multiple priorities

• Relevant Data Science/Agentic/Gen AI certifications demonstrating expertise in analytics, machine learning, or advanced AI methodologies is a plus.

• Fluent in English
