About the Job

Reporting to the Head of Global Finance Services, the Head of Finance Data & Analytics is a strategic leadership position that enables the transformation of financial data into actionable business intelligence.

This role serves as the critical bridge between finance operations, advanced analytics, and strategic decision-making across Sanofi's global organization.

You will partner closely with:

• Finance (Operational Finance, Corporate Conso, Group Controlling)
• A2R and Controlling Ops Global Process Owners and delivery teams
• Data team from Business Operations Transformation
• Digital to architect Sanofi's financial data ecosystem and unlock insights that drive business performance

This position sits at the intersection of finance, technology, and strategy—combining deep financial expertise with advanced analytics capabilities to enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

Data scope: This role focuses on Controlling and Accounting (A2R) data.

Order-to-Cash (O2C) data management falls under separate organizational responsibility.

This role works with enterprise-class systems and platforms including:

• SAP (incl. SAP/4 HANA and SAP MDG) as ERP system
• IBM planning Analytics as EPM
• Power BI and Sigma for data visualization and reporting
• Snowflake for data warehouse
• Informatica (to be confirmed) for data integration and quality

Main responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Analytics

• Develop the advanced analytics and insights strategy for Finance, delivering financial and operational business intelligence that shapes strategic decisions

• Define analytical frameworks and identify critical data points needed to generate meaningful business insights

• Support ad-hoc analytical requests from senior leadership with rapid, high-quality analysis

• Drive innovation in financial analytics, including enabling AI and machine learning applications on Finance data

Data Governance & Quality Management

• Establish and maintain enterprise-wide finance data quality frameworks across Planning Analytics solutions

• Lead data governance initiatives and establish robust quality controls to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across global finance systems

• Conduct regular data quality audits and implement corrective actions

• Define and enforce data standards, policies, and best practices across the organization

Master Data Management

• Oversee the governance, quality, and lifecycle management of finance master data (cost centers, GL accounts, WBS/Internal Orders, products, therapeutic areas, organizational hierarchies, etc.)

• Coordinate master data creation, modification, and maintenance processes, promoting self-service capabilities and automation

• Support and track master data cleansing, harmonization, and standardization initiatives across global systems

• Look at master data workflows and approval processes to ensure compliance and efficiency

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Partner with Finance Business Partners, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Tax, Global Process Owners, and GFS delivery teams to understand and address analytical needs

• Collaborate with the Business Operations Transformation Data team and Digital teams on data architecture, integration, and alignment

• Engage with data visualization teams to design and maintain intuitive analytics dashboards and reporting solutions

• Provide training, guidance, and support on data management and analytics best practices across the organization

• Engage externally with GBS similar organisations and expert groups, to benchmark and identify best practices

About You

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Performance Management, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field
• Experience in finance analytics or financial planning & analysis, as well as with finance master data management
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong communication skills with ability to present complex data insights to non-technical audiences
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Limited travel requirement

Preferred:

• Proficiency in Power BI, Snowflake and Informatica
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
• Experience with SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) or similar tools
• Certification in data analytics or data management (CDMP, CAP, etc.)
• Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.)
• Project management experience
• Experience in large and international company
