About the job


The Head of Demand Planning leads and manages the centralized demand planning activities, in line with Sanofi global strategy and objectives. This includes Demand Planners and IA driven demand forecasting.

This role is critical in driving demand planning processes, overseeing operational routines and teams, and acting as a liaison between the centralized demand planning function located in Hubs and the local demand planning leads at market level, as well as other key stakeholders.

Global Demand Planning covers a global team of 80- 130 colleagues located all around the world, such as Bogota, Budapest, Kuala Lumpur and Barcelona. As a global function, under Market Supply Chain, it covers 150 defined planning process steps for all GBUs and markets. It is a team of experts in both demand forecasting processes, Kinaxis and planning master data. The teams also need knowledge of local markets, products and languages to efficiently meet expectations. As well the team builds and deploys AI models and tools critical to our success.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the central demand planning teams, provide strategic direction, mentorship, and coaching to ensure professional growth and high performance

  • Lead the team of Demand forecasting Excellence, responsible for AI powered tools to continuously improve demand forecasting capabilities in a lean mindset

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the demand planning in the hub, focusing on continuous improvement and operational efficiency

  • Drive improvements in demand planning processes and methodologies, leveraging advanced planning tools and systems

  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of demand plans by maintaining robust quality assurance processes and compliance with internal and external regulatory frameworks

  • Act as the primary interface between the demand planning team and key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration

  • Accountability of key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure that teams meet or exceed targets, driving continuous improvement initiatives

  • Manage resources effectively, ensuring that team leaders and teams have the necessary tools, training, and support to perform their roles

  • Identify and address resource gaps to optimize team performance

  • Ensure that all demand planning activities comply with established internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements

  • Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of demand plans

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the demand planning team

  • Prepare and present demand planning reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the teams activities remain compliant and cutting-edge

  • Leverage feedback and best practices to drive improvements and achieve operational excellence

About you

Experience:

•    Minimum 10 years of professional experience in demand planning roles with demonstrated team leadership capabilities

•    Proven multinational leadership track record

•    Knowledge of pharmaceutical primary and secondary manufacturing processes preferable

Technical skills:

•    Excellent proficiency in demand planning tools and ERP systems (SAP and Kinaxis)

•   Strong knowledge in AI tools

•    Comprehensive understanding of internal and external regulatory frameworks

•    Strong skills in mentoring, coaching, and team development

Soft skills:

•    Effective liaison capabilities to act as the communication bridge between the demand planning team, global hub leadership, and key stakeholders

•    Proficient in problem-solving, attention to detail, and good organizational skills

•    A high level of accountability and attention to details required

•    Demonstrated high standards of integrity, professionalism, and commitment

•    Good team facilitation and relationship building skills

Education:

•    Advanced degree (e.g., Master's or PhD) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Languages:

  • Excellent English communication and writing skills
