About the Job

As a Lead Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of process and utilities equipment. You will lead maintenance execution, support operational continuity, and drive technical excellence across preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team coordination, ensuring maintenance activities are delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with quality and HSE standards.

Main Responsibilities

1. Maintenance Execution & Operations

• Plan, assign, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for process, utilities equipment, and facilities
• Ensure timely, high-quality execution of maintenance work within defined standards
• Troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve equipment breakdowns in a safe and cost-effective manner
• Ensure accuracy and timely closure of work orders in CMMS

2. Technical Expertise (Mechanical Equipment)

• Maintain and service rotating equipment (agitators, centrifuges, pumps, dryers, etc.)
• Maintain and service static equipment (heat exchangers, vessels, valves, etc.)
• Perform advanced diagnostic and specialty tasks including:
  • Shaft laser alignment
  • Vibration analysis
  • Eddy current testing
  • Glass-lined reactor spark testing
  • Thickness measurement for reactors and columns

3. Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Assign tasks and supervise technicians to ensure efficient execution
• Train, coach, and mentor junior technicians on maintenance practices and safety standards
• Promote continuous improvement and technical capability within the team

4. Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate and supervise external contractors to ensure compliance with Sanofi standards
• Raise and manage Purchase Requisitions for maintenance activities through to goods receipt
• Collaborate with reliability engineering and cross-functional teams for maintenance optimization

5. Compliance, HSE & Quality

• Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards, Life Saving Rules (LSR), and Zero Incident Mindset
• Manage Permit-to-Work (PTW), including confined space and work-at-height authorization
• Ensure compliance with LOTO and safety procedures during maintenance activities
• Report equipment anomalies and deviations promptly to supervisors

6. Continuous Improvement & Documentation

• Contribute to maintenance planning, procedures, and work instructions
• Support Change Control (IQ) and deviation investigations (e.g., Ishikawa analysis)
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability, maintainability, and safety

About You

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Strong experience in maintenance of process equipment in manufacturing/pharmaceutical environments
• Proven expertise in both rotating and static equipment maintenance
• Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools (vibration, alignment, testing methods)
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance workflows
• Strong understanding of HSE standards, PTW, and LOTO procedures
• Leadership experience in guiding technicians or small teams
