Market Access-Payer Innovation Lead-Shanghai/Beijing

JOB PURPOSE:

This critical position drives Sanofi's payer innovation agenda by developing and implementing advanced payment and access solutions that enhance patient access to medicines while supporting Sanofi's business objectives. The Payer Innovation Lead provides strategic direction in formulating and advocating Sanofi's positions on critical health policy areas including sustainability, innovation, and rare disease affordability.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Lead the development and implementation of innovative payer strategies that create sustainable access solutions for Sanofi's portfolio, ensuring alignment with both local market needs and global strategic initiatives

• Establish and cultivate strong strategic relationships with senior-level policy makers and stakeholders at national level, representing Sanofi in high-level industry forums and government engagements

• Drive cross-functional collaboration at a senior level to design and implement comprehensive payer innovation programs that maximize market access opportunities

• Lead strategic planning initiatives for Central Market Access (CMA), including long-term portfolio access strategy development and cross-functional alignment at both country and global level

• Provide strategic leadership in market penetration by identifying and capitalizing on policy opportunities, including but not limited to the policies of payment differentiation among different stakeholders

• Lead advanced analytics initiatives to examine reimbursement data, identifying trends and opportunities to enhance access and develop innovative payment models

• Design and implement strategic stakeholder engagement programs with authorities, associations, and experts to achieve favorable policy environment for Sanofi's products

• Establish and oversee innovative solution frameworks that maximize business opportunities while addressing stakeholder needs

• Align local payer innovation strategies with global initiatives, ensuring best practices are shared and leveraged appropriately

• Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert within Sanofi on payer innovation and advanced market access approaches

JOB-HOLDER REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Bachelor degree or above; Advanced degree in Medical, Pharmacy, Health Economics, Public Health, or related field is preferred

Experience & knowledge & Competencies:

• 8-10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in senior market access roles

• Demonstrated strategic leadership skills with the ability to influence at executive levels both internally and externally

• Proven track record of developing innovative payer solutions and navigating complex healthcare policy environments

• Deep understanding of the Chinese healthcare system, reimbursement mechanisms, and evolving access landscape

• Exceptional relationship-building capabilities with government officials, payers, and other key stakeholders

• Strong business acumen with the ability to align market access strategies with commercial objectives

• Superior analytical skills to identify trends, opportunities, and solutions within complex policy environments

• Excellent cross-functional leadership abilities and demonstrated success in matrix environments

• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels

• Proficiency in both English and Chinese, with strong written and oral communication skills

• Advanced project management capabilities, including the ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously
