JOB PURPOSE:

The Head of GenMed MA Strategy, China is responsible for the development and implementation of market access, pricing strategies, and health economics evidence generation specifically for Sanofi's General Medicines portfolio in China. This role focuses on securing optimal access, pricing, and reimbursement conditions for GenMed products from early phases to launch and throughout the lifecycle, while developing robust HEOR evidence to support these strategies. The role holder will work closely with local cross-functional teams, global General Medicines teams, and HEOR teams to optimize patient access strategy and ensure business sustainability for the GenMed portfolio.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. General Medicines Market Access Strategy

• Accountable for the definition of the Value & Access Strategy/Pricing strategy for GenMed portfolio, aligned with local cross-functional teams and coordinates the implementation of the access strategy at a country level

• Ensures that local deliverables (Value Story/Price/reimbursement/HE dossier) and payer marketing actions/materials for GenMed products are ready in a timely manner

• Work cross-functionally to deliver insights and anticipate market access evolution, developing market access strategies aligned with clinical evidence, patient needs, and commercial ambition for GenMed portfolio

• Lead the development of payer value propositions for GenMed products and perform gap analyses to direct the development of Value Pack and Market Access toolkits in co-creation with the GenMed BU, Medical, PA and Policy teams

• Maintain strong partnership with GMAx to maximize value offering to payers for GenMed products and share best practices

• Create long-range strategies and tactics specific to GenMed therapeutic areas to understand the evolution of access evidence needs and identify appropriate capabilities and resources

• Perform gap assessments for local capacity and capabilities based on GenMed business opportunities and engage with internal stakeholders for resource allocations

• Build capability to interact with external think tanks to shape P&R environment for General Medicines products

• Lead HEOR strategy development for GenMed portfolio aligned with business objectives and market access needs

• Identify HEOR evidence gaps and develop research plans to address unmet evidence needs for GenMed access decision-making

• Provide HEOR inputs to the strategic and operational planning processes for GenMed products

2. GenMed Portfolio Pricing and Market Access Execution

• Develop price & reimbursement strategy with optimal conditions for GenMed product launches and portfolio market maintenance

• Secure alignment on pricing strategy and decisions between GenMed business units and GMAx

• Develop innovative solutions and dossiers to support reimbursement negotiation and other access practices specific to GenMed therapeutic areas

• Provide strategic inputs to GenMed business teams on national reimbursement, provincial reimbursement, and innovative access solutions

• Build strong engagement platforms and partnerships for access with KOLs in therapeutic areas relevant to GenMed portfolio

• Help global GenMed counterparts understand China's market, payment environment, and specific considerations for general medicines products

• Oversee the design, execution, and publication of health economic models, budget impact analyses, cost-effectiveness studies, and real-world evidence studies specific to GenMed products

• Develop evidence-based arguments and recommendations for pricing and reimbursement strategies using HEOR methodologies

• Ensure HEOR deliverables (HE dossiers, economic models, evidence synthesis) are developed with high quality and in a timely manner to support GenMed market access milestones

3. HEOR Evidence Generation & Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead the development and execution of HEOR evidence generation for GenMed portfolio to support national reimbursement, provincial reimbursement, innovative solutions, and medical expense management

• Build strong engagement platforms and partnerships with key opinion leaders in health economics, HTA, and outcomes research areas relevant to GenMed therapeutic areas

• Develop collaborative relationships with academic institutions, research organizations, and payer communities to advance HEOR science for general medicines

• Interact with external think tanks and policy makers to shape the HEOR and HTA environment for GenMed products in China

• Represent Sanofi GenMed at external HEOR conferences, advisory boards, and professional forums

• Help global counterparts understand China's health-economic and payment environment for general medicines based on economic studies and policy analysis

4. Team Leadership and Capability Building

• Manage high-performing GenMed market access team members

• Support talent development and drive capability building in GenMed market access areas

• Foster collaboration across GenMed portfolio and with cross-functional teams

• Drive capability building in HEOR methodologies, tools, and best practices across the GenMed organization

• Perform gap assessments for local HEOR capacity and capabilities based on GenMed business opportunities

• Collaborate with central HEOR team, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Public Affairs teams to ensure HEOR evidence is integrated into GenMed value propositions

JOB-HOLDER REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Public health, medical, pharmacy, or health economics background

• Master's degree in medical, public health, health economics, or related field; PhD in such areas is preferred

Experience & knowledge & Competencies:

• At least 10+ years of working experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

• 5+ years working experience in Market Access & pricing in multinational pharmaceutical companies, with experience in General Medicines portfolio preferred

• 3+ years of people management experience

• Comprehensive understanding of China healthcare system and global Market Access trends, particularly for general medicines products

• Deep understanding of pharmaceutical pricing/access/funding, payer needs and stakeholder management in primary care and general medicines therapeutic areas

• Strategic thinking and project management skills

• Problem solving and conflict management skills

• Strong teamwork spirit & collaborative approach including ability to be successful in a matrix environment

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate persuasively verbally and in writing with fluency in English and Mandarin

• Ability to master complexity and work under pressure

• Good command of both written and oral English
