Job title: Medical Capabilities and Operations Lead

  • Reports to: Medical Operations Lead Eurasia

  • Location:  Istanbul / Turkey

  • Job type: Permanent, Full time

Main responsibilities:

1. Strategic Development of Medical Competencies

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for the medical competency function, aligned with long-term business objectives.
  • Identify priority areas for competency enhancement to meet market demands and the company’s goals.
  • Assess current competency levels and establish a long-term development plan for continuous improvement.

2. Operational Excellence

  • Provide input into MA processes and standards to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity
  • Development, update, implementation of the local SOPs within Medical Affairs as required in the global SOP
  • Provide support for audits and inspections in Sanofi, incl. tracking and follow up of findings
  • Generate reports for Medical Leads on enquiry metrics and insights
  • Work closely with the regional/global team on medical activities and local deployment of the global medical systems/tools
  • Work in multi-functional groups of Company employees
  • Provide support for Pharma medical operations projects.
  • Management, implementation regional/global team’s projects at the local level
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans, including the implementation of training and upskilling programs.
  • Ensure the effective execution of competency development processes across the medical teams.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive process improvements and optimize training initiatives.

3. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Foster close collaboration between the medical function and other departments (marketing, R&D, regulatory affairs) to integrate medical competencies throughout the organization.
  • Support cross-functional teams in embedding medical competencies into business processes and decision-making.

4. Training and Development

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of competency-building programs tailored to the needs of the medical department.
  • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of training programs and ensure alignment with global industry standards.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing initiatives to maintain up-to-date medical expertise and best practices within the team.

5. Field Based Medical ecosystem development

  • Development and organization of internal educational programs for medical incl. induction program for new medical employees
  • Do double visits with MSL to identify areas for improvements and create trainings based on the identified gaps
  • Medical capabilities development support according to Medical Training program
  • Work closely with the global or regional team to ensure continuous sustainability of the program related to medical capabilities
  • MSLs ongoing training support and conducting annual assessment
  • Consistent MSL metrics development across therapy areas and ongoing tracking

About you  

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.  International exposure is desirable. 
  • Great leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Curious mindset who challenges the status quo to look always for better and innovative solutions
  • High learning agility
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Turkish
