Power BI Expert with React.js Skills

A cornerstone of CHC transformation in the coming years, the Power BI Expert will work under the guidance of the Data Visualization Lead Architect to define the strategy and operationalization of dashboards and reports, providing insights and trends for the CHC business unit’s growth.

This position focuses on presenting large amounts of information in ways that are universally understandable or easy to interpret, helping to spot patterns, trends, and correlations. These representations include charts, graphs, infographics, and other pictorial diagrams.

The Power BI Expert will closely collaborate with business partners, stakeholders, and vendors to deliver enterprise-grade, best-in-class data analytics and visualization solutions. This role emphasizes the optimization of Power BI environments for usability, performance, flexibility, testability, standardization, and automation. Additionally, the expert will embed Power BI reports and dashboards within React.js applications, enhancing user interactivity and user experience with custom CSS styling for seamless and consistent look and feel.

The Power BI Expert will act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and support for complex projects and issues, offering insights and recommendations on best practices, including performance improvements, React.js component integration, and Power BI embedding.

You will work with a diverse team of business analysts, data scientists, technical engineers, data architects, and project managers to deliver outcomes aligned with our business partner’s strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

The Power BI + React.js Expert will be responsible for:

• Providing support, maintenance, and enhancements to self-service analytics platforms ensuring stability, quality, and performance. Resolving all incidents and requests for changes in a timely fashion.
• Creating innovative and AI-powered features.
• Standardizing processes related to Power BI to ensure consistent and efficient use of data visualization tools.
• Assisting internal teams in creating reports and dashboards.
• Ensuring that projects developed by external teams comply with our guidelines and internal processes.
• Optimizing existing processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Embedding Power BI reports and dashboards into React.js applications, using Power BI REST APIs and JavaScript SDK for seamless integration and interactive dashboards.
• Styling React.js components to deliver customized CSS-based visualizations that align with the company’s branding and design requirements.
• Leveraging React.js state management (e.g., Hooks) to create dynamic, responsive data visualization interfaces, improving the overall user experience.
• Developing and delivering high-quality data visualization, reporting, and analytical solutions adhering to best practices, privacy, and governance principles.
• Supporting ETL, data, business intelligence, and advanced analytics architectures.
• Providing full lifecycle Power BI administration, including working with data owners, data architects, and report developers to support their needs.
• Developing complex analytical solutions, maintaining performance, and ensuring data integrity.
• Leading data literacy initiatives by engaging with vendors & contractors, setting up training schedules, facilitating sessions, and promoting self-service analytical tools adoption across the company.
• Performing administrative functions to ensure proper global settings configuration and provisioning of organizational resources in all aspects of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Cloud Service, and Power BI Embedded within React.js frameworks.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Power BI Gateways, managing access provisioning to users, and ensuring integration within React environments.
• Ensuring that data is managed in compliance with applicable quality, regulatory (Data Privacy, GxP, SOX, etc.), and cybersecurity requirements.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Power BI and data visualization.
• 3+ years of experience with React.js, JavaScript, and CSS in web development, particularly embedding and integrating Power BI dashboards into React applications.
• Expertise in embedding Power BI reports into React.js using Power BI Embedded and Power BI REST API to provide seamless user interactivity within web apps.
• Experience in CSS for creating customized styles in React components, ensuring a consistent look and feel across Power BI visuals and other web elements.
• Strong knowledge of React.js state management tools like Hooks to manage complex application states in data visualization apps.
• 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence using Power BI, with knowledge of paginated reports, DAX, and SQL.
• Proficiency in prepping, cleansing, modeling, analyzing, and visualizing data utilizing Power BI, focusing on usability, performance, and consistency in integration with React.js.
• Experience in Power BI platform administration, including governance, pipelines, usage monitoring, and resource provisioning (capacities, licenses, etc.).
• Experience in configuring Power BI for seamless embedding within web applications, optimizing performance, and delivering interactive, real-time reporting dashboards.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to Power BI report embedding in React applications and suggest efficient solutions.
• Good technical knowledge and excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into integrated Power BI and React solutions.
• Agile ways of working and large projects phased delivery.

Data & Business Intelligence Domain and Software Experience (Preferred):

• Experience interfacing with heterogeneous systems and data sources.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake, DataBricks, Python/R.
• Working knowledge of Informatica, Layer 7, and Apigee.
• Experience procuring data from ERPs (SAP, JDE, etc.).
