The Role and Opportunity

We are looking for an exceptional Bank Connectivity Lifecycle and Project Manager to join our team at Sanofi. In this pivotal role, you will drive the implementation of our centralized bank connectivity solution across multiple regions while managing ongoing adaptations required by business needs, regulatory changes, and evolving banking standards.

As our TCM Central Bank Connectivity platform expands to serve more affiliates, the strategic importance of this position and its lifecycle management responsibilities has become increasingly critical to our success.

The Bank Connectivity Lifecycle and Project Manager is a member of the TCM Core Model Team, working alongside Project Managers, the Solution Delivery and AMS Lead, and SAP experts.

Role Dimensions:

This pivotal position combines:

  • Functional and technical expertise on banking payment formats, bank reporting solutions and formats, and bank connectivity solutions
  • Project management expertise, leading bank connectivity deployment projects and contributing to different TCM implementation project phases, in coordination with all project and business stakeholders
  • Coordination responsibilities with different Treasury departments including, Operational Treasury teams but also Global Project Owner organization, Digital teams, Banks, Swift…, to ensure seamless onboarding and maintenance of bank connectivity services.

Critical Responsibilities and Expectations of the Role

Project activities

In Her/ His position the Bank Connectivity Manager will support and Lead Project activities in which she/ he will:

Support and facilitate the Global Process Owner (GPO) activities

  • Support Global Process Leads in pre-design assessment and project scoping phases Support Global Process Leads and International Treasury in defining target banking landscapes of to-be deployed entities according to Sanofi Standards and TCM requirements, in collaboration with Regional/local Treasurers, and TCM Solution Delivery Team
  • Ensure consistency of processes deployed with the Treasury Core Model and iShift
  • Ensure compatibility of localized solutions deployed with Core Model

Manage Bank Relationships during Projects:

  • Mobilize banks to "enter in project mode" with Sanofi, get the relevant resources allocated and required service level, manage escalations
  • Manage operational contact with banks (recurring weekly calls, documentation reviews and progress)
  • Coordinate with Banks for legal documentation preparation including:
    • Swift Score access agreements, banking mandates
    • Terms and conditions, project fees
    • Opening/closing bank accounts documentation
  • Coordinate with banks for cut-over, go-live and hypercare activities

Be accountable for Project Documentation Delivery, on time and quality:

  • Banks project documentation (SOW, mandates, contracts…)
  • Deliver any ad-hoc documentation required by Banks for local tax, legal, or regulatory purposes
  • Maintain internal referential: cartographies of bank accounts and services…

Be accountable for Project methodology support and project deliverables

Scoping Phase Deliverables:

  • Target Banking Landscape translated into a technico-functional specification document (called TCM Roll Out Kit)

Design and Build Phase Deliverables:

  • Statement of Work (SOW) with Banks in scope (contractual project document)
  • Sanofi Bank Cartography updates
  • Local POA (Powers of Attorney) and Mandates
  • Any other documents required by Banks for local tax, legal, or regulatory purposes

Testing Phase and go-live Deliverables:

Deliver project framework and tooling to document and monitor progress of, design, build and testing related to bank connectivity

  • Test trackers for payments and reporting to support SIT and UAT cycles
  • Penny test plan
  • Bank cut-over plan (in sync with Solution delivery cut-over and Business ramp-down and ramp-up plan)

Project Reporting:

  • Accountable for operational project committees and weekly reporting to Program Lead
  • Accountable for monthly and/or ad-hoc reporting to Business Leadership and BPOs

Bank connectivity Lifecycle Activities

In Her/ His position the Bank Connectivity Manager will manage, and coordinate lifecycleactivities linked to evolutions of Central Bank Connectivity in which she/ he will:

Subject Matter Expert:

  • Provide Functional and Technical Insights to Stakeholders:
    • Support GPLs & Business stakeholders during RFPs with Sanofi Banks
    • Advise Business and Solution Delivery Teams when Banks change their standards or during banks’ M&A operations leading to activity terminations in deployed countries
  • Act as subject matter expert for bank connectivity matters, industry formats and practices, in the context of the Treasury Core Model
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of banking payment formats, bank reporting solutions, and connectivity solutions
  • Maintain a high expertise level in Swift Connectivity, SEPA, and payment practices over the globe

Sanofi Change Requests Management

  • Manage Sanofi central bank connectivity Change Requests including follow-up of bank connectivity tickets
  • Coordinate, monitor testing with Banks
  • Coordinate with IS departments for technical implementation
  • Maintain internal and external supporting documentation
  • Support Treasury Operational teams for bank connectivity legal documentation
  • Support Treasury Operational teams for Power of Attorney changes activities and when applicable support for management of bank delegations’ central tool (Legal Suite Galexy)

Process adherence and stability

She/ He must ensure that all processes related to the operation of the Central Bank Connectivity (change requests, Bank reporting daily availability, DRP exercises, BCP solution alignment…) are:

  • Well documented, and periodically updated
  • Well communicated, periodically
  • Followed with accuracy on a permanent basis

She/ He will support the “Client” transition from the local Operational Treasury organizations to the Regional Treasury Operational Team organization, ensuring:

  • Required evolution in the process if relevant
  • Proper training and Knowledge transfer to the Regional Teams
  • The continuity of process during the transition

Management and Leadership

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of bank connectivity specialized consultants responsible for:
    • Facilitating implementation with banks
    • Delivering required project documentation on time and with quality
    • Gathering, analyzing, and vulgarizing bank specifications to project Teams
    • Following test phases with banks (tracking messages and feedback, documenting tests and production penny tests)
    • Providing periodical reporting to Project Managers, Program Lead, and Program Manager
  • Team Management Accountabilities:
    • Lead recruitment of consultants, and manage turnover
    • Support Treasury Operational Teams
    • Coordinate with Solution Delivery Team
    • Ensure workload is efficiently distributed and monitor progress
    • Hold the team accountable for quality and timing of deliverables and reporting
  • Project Leadership:
    • In context of projects strictly limited to bank connectivity evolutions (mainly for live countries evolutions, bank M&A, or mutations), Take the Lead of the full project management coordinating all the TCM or iSHIFT Teams to deliver according to Sanofi Project Methodology
    • Manage integration topics with P2P, CI2C, A2R, and P&C
    • Ensure Internal Control Framework is in place for deployed processes/solutions (including IT Dependencies)
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Partner closely with Treasury Operational Teams and Solution Delivery Teams

The Bank Connectivity Lifecycle and Project Manager reports to the Treasury Core Model Program Lead and is part of the “Corporate Treasury Operations, Treasury Core Model and Treasury Systems” Team.

The role operates in a multicultural, matrix organization environment requiring strong cross-functional collaboration and the ability to adapt style and approach depending on the function or business unit.

Candidate Profile

Experience

Sanofi is looking for a talented profile who combines the dimensions of Project Management and Bank Connectivity technico-functional knowledge, with:

  • 10+ years' experience in Bank or Corporate Treasury on Treasury bank connectivity or electronic banking systems / SWIFT / Payment Practices
  • Treasury experience within Corporate or Banking environments, especially in banking practices for inbound and outbound traffic, legal documentation (opening/closing bank accounts, score agreements)
  • Proven track record of Treasury/Finance projects implementations preferably based on SAP solutions (experience with other Treasury Systems is a plus)
  • Full project lifecycle experience: Ideally greenfield approach demonstrating knowledge of all project phases (from business process definition to testing, cut-over, and Hypercare)
  • Experience in Treasury Systems/Connectivity tools functional administration and maintenance
  • Experience managing and delivering complex cross-functional programs in international environments
  • Knowledge and past experience of project management methodology
  • Managerial experience is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Legal, or a related field
  • Project Methodology certificate (Agile is a plus)
  • SAP FI/Treasury, S/4HANA certifications preferred
  • Treasury certification preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite
  • In-depth knowledge of Treasury processes and banking systems
  • Familiar with Swift Connectivity
  • Familiarity with SAP (desirable)
  • Understanding of IS infrastructure and IS security aspects
  • Understanding of regulatory constraints (SOX, segregation of duties)
  • Experience with digital project management tools (HP ALM, JIRA, Signavio)

Languages

  • English: fluent (required)
  • French: fluent (desired)
  • Other languages are an asset
